Andrew George Puttick ODI Debut vs New Zealand

79th South African to represent his Country in an ODI

Player Profile:

Andrew George Puttick, a left-handed opening batsman from Rondebosch Boys’ High School & Western Province, made his debut in the 2000-01 season. He scored his maiden first-class century in just his third game, while still a teenager, against Easterns at Newlands. Andrew was part of South Africa’s squad at the Under-15 World Cup and later the 1999 Under-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka. He has represented South Africa at every level and excelled in his profession. Since his first-class debut he has averaged just under 50, with a highest score of 250 not out, and toured Sri Lanka again with the South Africa A side in 2003. Puttick received his third call-up for a Sri Lanka tour when he was called into the national side in July 2004. On Friday the 28th October 2005 Andrew became the 79th South African to represent his country in a One Day International. He made two phone calls upon hearing the news, one to his family who have been there every step of the way and the other to his trusted agent, MT Hughes. He loves to surf and simply kick on the couch! This man gives new meaning to the word Chill . He enjoys Bananas and will do any thing for his dog Maxie. His nickname is …Farth... Andrew is a true disciple of the game of Cricket and a loyal friend.
