This is some general history related to the Fletcher name.
FLETCHER- Like many names derived from occupations Fletcher (an arrow-maker) is as common elsewhere as it is in Scotland. Most Highland Fletchers came from the ‘Fleisdhaires’ (‘Mac-an-leisdeir’) who stoutly proclaimed that they were the original inhabitants of Glenorchy in Argyll wherein, tradition relates, “they were the first to raise smoke and boil water”. In 1497 this clan entered a bond with the Stewart’s of Appin against the Macdonalds, but a similar bond with the Glenorchy Campbell’s in 1587 did not prevent the infamous Black Duncan of Glenorchy from plundering their ancient home at Achallader on Loch Tulla. Thereafter, some went to Islay, Jura and the Colonies and by 1719 the Chief, ‘Gillespic-na-Crannaich’, a loyal Jacobite who was involved in the 1715 rising, had removed himself and his family to Dunans in Cowal where descendants still live.
Stewart Fletcher Pact- In 1497 the Fletcher’s took part in one of the fiercest clan fights ever joining the side of the Maclarens, together with Stewart’s of Appin, against the Macdonalds. The Maclarens were raiding the Macdonald country, and were driving some of the Macdonalds cattle when they were over taken at Achallader by the Macdonalds. The Maclarens were outnumbered, and Stewart and Fletcher came to their assistance. During this battle Donald Macdonald of Keppoch and Dugald Stewart of Appin were slain. The Stewart’s of Appin thereafter entered into a bond of friendship with the Fletcher, in the dirk. A plaque on the wall outside Dunans in Glendaruel commemorates this alliance. The agreement was for mutual assistance if and when the necessity arose, the Stewart’s agreeing to pay the ‘eirig’ for any crime committed by any of the Fletchers.
Wilkinson Returns
England captain Jonny Wilkinson will make his long-awaited return from injury in his club Newcastle’s European Cup tie with Edinburgh on Saturday.
Wilkinson, who has not played since injuring his bicep in a league match in mid-October, was named among the Newcastle replacements for the away match.
Rumours have it that Wilkinson might have signed a Player/Coach contract with the Nadoes! He has taken the spot as most priced Nadoe after Fletcher has been sold to the Bloemfontein Cheetahs for nothing..

The Biggest hit of the season??
NCC (NADOES CRICKET CLUB)
Another cricket game on Sunday which was played in great spirit may have triggered off the Nadoes Cricket Club.. Look forward to hearing some response! There are some great stories which will be published from a massive pissup on Sunday afternoon.. Some say Dennis Hobson has been approached to coach the side.

Vintage of 2004
Like fine red wine we knew at the beginning of the season we had a winning year, just look after things, work hard on and off the field and without any doubt we couldn’t fail to reap the rewards.
The run to the finals was awesome. Games were always hard, whether we won with complete conviction or like a bunch of jokers. Some days we clicked like Seabiscuit against the mighty War Admiral, other times we relied on a spark of individual brilliance. But I think mostly we relied on a solid bunch of forwards who were happy and willing to put in the hard work for a backline who could score from virtually anywhere on the park. There in, lies the essence of the Vintage of 2004 from the House of Nadoe.
